Acceptable Use Policy

To maintain a safe and productive environment for all residents, the following behaviors are strictly prohibited:

Harassment and Hate Speech: You may not post content that promotes violence, incites hatred, promotes discrimination, or disparages on the basis of race or ethnic origin, religion, disability, age, nationality, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender, or gender identity.

Defamation and Libel: You may not post content that contains false statements intended to damage the reputation of individuals, private businesses, or public entities.

Threats and Violence: Content that threatens physical harm to individuals, groups, or public officials is strictly prohibited and will be reported to the relevant authorities.

Illegal Acts: You may not use this platform to facilitate, promote, or encourage any illegal activities.

Spam and Commercial Solicitation: This platform is for civic discourse, not commercial advertising. Unsolicited commercial content, promotional material and links to external promotions will be removed, as will persistent off-topic content whose aim is to provoke a response.

Deceptive or Misleading Content: You may not post content that is deceptive, misleading, or derogatory toward or undermining of any individual or group.

Intellectual Property: You may not post content that violates any intellectual property rights, including copyright, or that is in violation of any law or regulation.

Your Responsibility: You are wholly responsible for any content you post, including content you choose to share.

This policy aligns with Birmingham City Council's social media house rules. In line with those rules, we will remove — in whole or in part — posts we consider inappropriate or discriminatory against any individual or group, and anyone repeatedly posting content falling into the prohibited categories above will be blocked and/or reported to the associated platform or authorities.

As the platform owner, I reserve the right, at my sole discretion, to:

Review and Filter: Monitor all content for compliance with this AUP, including automated AI moderation applied before content is published.

Remove Content: Delete, hide, or edit any post that violates these terms without prior notice.

Restrict Access: Suspend or permanently ban users who repeatedly violate this policy.

Cooperate with Authorities: We reserve the right to disclose user information to law enforcement agencies if required by law, particularly in cases involving credible threats of violence or illegal acts.

User-Generated Content: Content posted by residents, constituents, or other third parties does not reflect the views, opinions, or policies of Councillor Danny Carter or the Office of the Councillor.

No Endorsement: The presence of a comment on this platform does not constitute an endorsement by the Councillor.

Accuracy of Information: We do not guarantee the accuracy, integrity, or quality of user-generated content and shall not be held liable for any inaccuracies.

If you encounter content that you believe violates this AUP, please use the "Report" button located on the post. All reports are treated seriously and will be reviewed by the platform moderation team.
