What we've done to help

  • Plain-English menus and page names — no council jargon.
  • You can zoom up to 300% without text spilling off the screen.
  • The site works with a keyboard alone and with screen readers.
  • You can talk to the AI Caseworker out loud instead of typing, and it can read replies aloud.
  • A light and dark colour theme, with colours chosen for readable contrast.
  • The site works on phones, tablets, and computers.

Known limitations

  • Some older documents attached to news posts may not be fully accessible.
  • Live voice chat with the AI Caseworker needs a modern browser (Chrome, Edge, or Safari).
  • Maps of ward issues may be difficult to use with a screen reader — the same information is available as a list.
