Emergency Pype Hayes Ward Meeting: Have Your Say on Our Ward's Future

I am hosting an Emergency Pype Hayes Ward Meeting on Tuesday 29th September 2026, and I am calling on all residents to attend.

We are facing several urgent challenges in our ward that require a direct, transparent discussion. My office has arranged this public meeting at the Hollyfields Sports and Conference Centre so that you can raise your concerns, hold the Council to account, and help us shape our collective response.

Why This Meeting Is Urgent

This is not a routine ward meeting. The issues we will be discussing are having a profound impact on the safety, stability, and character of our local community.

Our Agenda for the Evening:

1. Windfall Court Planning Application (Ref: 2026/02518/PA): The proposal to change the use of 5 Windfall Court from a C3 family dwelling to C2 supported accommodation for young people is causing immense local anxiety. Beyond the immediate planning grounds, residents have brought forward serious allegations that this property has already been operating as an unauthorised HMO for two years. We will examine the facts, discuss our formal objection, and ensure our voices are heard by the Planning Authority.

2. Supported Exempt Accommodation (SEA), Crime & Anti-Social Behaviour: The rapid proliferation of Supported Exempt Accommodation across Erdington continues to strain our local infrastructure. We will be focusing specifically on the ongoing issues at 798 and 800 Tyburn Road, where residents have reported persistent anti-social behaviour, crime, and a lack of proper management. We need a firm commitment from the Council on enforcement and community protection.

3. Springthorpe Green Housing Disrepair & Community Safety: Residents deserve decent, safe housing. I am increasingly concerned about the state of disrepair at various sites in Springthorpe Green, including the serious issues reported at 12 Springthorpe. We will be discussing what actions the Council and the relevant housing providers must take immediately to ensure resident safety.

4. Pype Hayes Reformed Church Parking & Anti-Social Behaviour: We will also be tackling the ongoing parking congestion and associated anti-social behaviour concerns surrounding the Pype Hayes Reformed Church site. It is clear that the current situation is unsustainable for neighbours and road users alike.
