Working Together for a Safer Pype Hayes
By Cllr Danny Carter · 20 October 2026
As your ward councillor, I know that feeling safe in our neighbourhood is a top priority for everyone in Pype Hayes. Recent data from August 2026 shows that Erdington recorded 299 incidents of crime and antisocial behaviour, including 127 reports of violent crime and 25 vehicle-related offences. I am working closely with the council and local partners to ensure our area receives the attention it needs. The Birmingham Community Safety Strategy 2025-2028 is our city-wide plan to reduce crime, and Erdington has been identified as a priority area for resource allocation. This means we are seeing targeted enforcement to tackle antisocial behaviour hotspots. We also have tools like the Community Trigger, which allows residents to request a formal review if they have reported persistent antisocial behaviour without seeing a resolution. If you are concerned about specific issues, you can help by reporting them through the council website or by joining our local ward forums. There is also funding available through the Shared Prosperity Fund to support community-led projects that improve our local area. I am here to support you in navigating these processes. Please reach out if you need assistance with a community safety concern or want to know more about how to get involved. You can report issues directly at https://dannycarter.org.uk/report and contact my office for further help.
